site. All you do is display an advertisement or text link on your site and you will be paid for each
click from your site or for each sale that results in somebody using that link from your site.

To get the most out of the ads you show you will want to target those ads towards your visitors.
It is even a good idea to target certain areas of your web site with different ads. For example you
may write something up about how your Sony DVD Player is really nice, this would probably be a good
place to have an advertisement to a electronics store or DVD movie site.
Selling advertising space
If your site is large enough, and there is demand, you can always sell ads yourself instead of going through
a middle-person. The problem with this is your advertisers may want to get some sort of reports on how well
their ads are doing, so you may need to set up a special program to generate statistics for your
advertisers. This really isn't too difficult, but it does add that extra layer of complexity to your site
management. You may be able to get more money using this method, but finding the advertisers can sure be a
lot more challenging.
