If you are going to be selling products or services directly from you web site, then you will need to make
sure your
Web Host can offer you the services you need.
If you're selling products/services finish up your website
At this point you will more than likely need to have your web host picked out, so that you can add the
finishing touches to your web site. Like the appropriate links to accept a credit card payment, etc.
Instant payment - Make sure it's secure
I haven't run across a company like this yet, but be SURE that any company receiving credit card information
for your customers has a Secure connection using SSL on the web. It should be mentioned on their web pages
somewhere, and you can check and make sure it is secure after setting up their service, by going through the
steps to place and order.

To sell services or products you will almost always need a merchant account through a bank
to accept credit card payments. You will usually have to pay a monthly fee, along with a
transaction fee, and possibly a few other fees. If your company is small and the payments
you receive by credit card doesn't warrant paying all those fee's, there is an alternative.

Checks/money orders
Of course you can always accept Checks and Money Orders like you normally would. But if you are selling
products online, it is recommended to have some form of instant payment. Without a form of instant payment
you may miss out on a large portion of potential customers because of a lack of convenience. A large part
of being online is convenience.
